Aldous Huxley said "words can be like X-rays if you use them properly -- they'll go through anything. You read and you're pierced."

I love a good piece of writing that grabs your attention and yes, maybe even "pierces."

From 2018 to 2022, I wrote and edited content for the Milford edition of The Spinal Column Newsweekly, in western Oakland County. The Spinal Column closed its doors in November of 2022. It was a privilege to share the stories and news of my community, as well as collaborate with the SCN team of writers, editors and photographers to put together an informative and entertaining newspaper.

One week after the last final edition of The Spinal Column was printed, I helped publisher Jim Stevenson start a new endeavor - Public Notice Weekly - serving as the managing editor, coordinating weekly content for the publication which delivers a sampling of local municipal news for 11 western Oakland County, and two Wayne County communities.

I also worked for six years as a staff reporter at C & G Newspapers in Warren, covering Shelby Township & Utica; and then, West Bloomfield & Orchard Lake.

In between my newspaper stints, my husband and I have been raising two sporty boys, and a spirited (some might say crazy) German Shepard mix. What time wasn't spent at the elementary school or the ball field, was devoted to helping produce content for three different editions of Macaroni Kid, a hyper-local e-newsletter focused on kid and family activities.

I love telling people's stories - from the 105 year old WWII veteran Tony Celano who hustled a good game of pool until his 90s, to four-month-old baby Shay Ziff's heart transplant - sharing our stories can connect us in ways we didn't know possible.

Whatever your writing needs, it would be my pleasure to pierce through to the heart of the matter.
